DUMPED Love Islanders Mitch Taylor and Ella Barnes held hands as they arrived back in the UK after narrowly missing out on the final.

They were joined by axed pairing Scott van-der-Sluis and Abi Moores, who looked in good spirits, despite all but ending any hopes of a romance between them on last night’s Aftersun.

Mitch was engrossed by his phone at Stansted Airport

Mitch looked downbeat after landing at Stansted Airport with his villa partner.

He was glued to his phone as he walked beside Ella who pulled her luggage by her side.

Scott and Abi looked far happier to be back. Goalkeeper Scott, in particular, had a torrid time in the villa, with many viewers claiming he was being unfairly picked on by co-stars.

He wore a white T-shirt and a black gilet for his homecoming while Abi wore skintight leisurewear.

Mitch rocked all black items, from his bucket hat to tee and shorts, while Ella wore a brown dress with cut out sides and a wide-brimmed hat.

While the hand-holding suggests that couple has a romantic future, Scott friend-zoned Abi on last nights’ Aftersun after their romance failed to get off the ground.

The footballer admitted it had been forced, leaving Abi noticeably upset.

He then proceeded to defend ex Catherine Agbaje, telling viewers not to leave her nasty messages after she dumped him for Elom on the show.

Quizzed by Maya Jama as to whether or not they could rekindle things, Scott said: “At the moment we get on as friends really well, there’s nothing different to that at the moment.

“I don’t know about a date just yet. I was sort over that situation in the villa. You can never say never, but, for me at the moment I’m sort of done with it.”

Those watching at home rushed to comment on the interview, with one person writing: “This aftersun interview with scott and abi is so awkward.”

A second said: “I actually feel so bad for Abi, that looked so awkward for her, I know she regrets even entertaining Scott’s flirting to begin with lol.”

While a third added: “This Abbie and Scott post villa interview is soooo awkward.”

Mitchel and Ella’s dumping leaves Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble, Jess Harding and Sammy Root, Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki and Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas to battle it out to be crowned the winners of Love Island 2023 and the £50,000 prize.
