The Irish beauty shuts down speculation

Maura Higgins, the breakout star from Love Island in 2019, has recently shared the real reason she won't be making a comeback for the Love Island All Stars series. Although she returned as a social host for the American version of the show, Maura has no plans to re-enter the villa as a contestant.

One and done

In an Instagram Q&A, Maura made it clear that she has no desire to participate in Love Island again. She stated, "I feel like I’ve done it once and I think once is enough and I’m a bit old for that. I’m not going to go back on the show, I feel like I’m really enjoying what I’m doing… I just don’t really want to go backwards, I want to look forward."

Not alone in the decision

While Maura may be sitting out the All Stars series, she's not alone. Other former UK Islanders, including Megan Barton Hanson and Maura's ex, Curtis Pritchard, are also rumored to be skipping the opportunity. However, the show will still feature a mix of cast members from the US and Australia.

Series confirmation

Mike Spencer, the boss of Love Island's production company, Lifted Entertainment, has confirmed that Love Island: All Stars is definitely happening. The series will take place in the breathtaking South African villa used for the Winter edition of Love Island. Spencer expressed his excitement, saying, "It’s set to be a must-watch series seeing some of your favorite Islanders from across the years heading back to the stunning South African villa to once again 'graft' as their search for love continues."

Love Island: All Stars will air on ITV2 and ITVX next year.
