However, on Sunday evening viewers watched as he left the model in a rage with a confession.
He told Ella how he “missed the game” after admitting he was open to getting to know new bombshell Kady McDermott.
Furious Ella raged back: “Go back to the game then.”
Ella then told Catherine Agbaje and Whitney Adebayo what he said and they were left horrified.
Following the scenes, fans are convinced Tyrique has caught feelings for Ella and other girls will back off as a result.
Writing on social media, one viewer said: “I feel like Tyrique is just rattled Kady didn’t pick him and now he feels like he’s either lost his touch or Ella’s scaring other girls away.”
A second wrote: “We can all see he likes Ella.”
“Tyrique needs to man up and stop blaming others for his insecurities. It’s time to step up his game or pack up and go home,” said a third.
While a fourth said: “Ella is a bit territorial.”
Love Island viewers had previously been left furious with Tyrique over his comment to Ella which left her in tears.
During the episode, Ella told him she was upset about how he acted with Kady, as she said: “I feel like them situations last night, most guys would be like ‘If I keep on flirting with other girls and doing this, she will go home’.
“Because she easily could’ve picked you last nigh.”
Looking unconcerned, Ty replied: “Mm, but she didn’t.”
