Wheeler's appointment will be confirmed during Shadow Attorney General Emily Thornberry's speech at the Labour party conference in Liverpool.

Marina Wheeler married Boris Johnson in 1993 after reuniting while he was working as a reporter for The Daily Telegraph. The couple had four children together. Wheeler was Johnson's second wife, with his first marriage ending in 1993.
