Shadow Net Zero Secretary Ed Miliband and Dale Vince Meet at Pullman Hotel

Last night, Ed Miliband, Shadow Net Zero Secretary, was spotted chatting and posing for selfies with Dale Vince, the bankroller of Just Stop Oil (JSO), inside the Pullman Hotel in Liverpool, where the Labour Conference is currently being held. This comes after Mr. Vince announced that he would no longer be financially supporting the eco-zealots.

Mr Vince has donated hundreds of thousands to Just Stop Oil, but last night announced intentions to stop paying the group so he can focus on "just stopping the Tories" instead

Smiles and Selfies

During their meeting, Mr. Miliband and Mr. Vince appeared to be in good spirits, engaging in a conversation that lasted approximately ten minutes with a small group of conference delegates. The two then posed for selfies, despite the fact that Sir Keir Starmer had previously criticized Just Stop Oil as "chaos" mongers.

Ending Financial Support

Yesterday, Mr. Vince made the decision to no longer fund the eco-zealots, citing concerns over potential future disruptions, which he believes would be "counterproductive." The founder of green company Ecotricity, who is also a major Labour donor, emphasized that mass disruption would only serve to "feed the Tories' culture-war narrative."

"In order to 'just stop oil,' first we need to just stop the Tories," Mr. Vince stated.

A Major Backer of Just Stop Oil

Mr. Vince has been a devoted supporter of Just Stop Oil since the group's formation in February 2022, having contributed a total of £340,000. Additionally, his green energy company, Ecotricity, has donated over £1.4 million to the Labour Party since 2014.

Labour Attempts to Distance Itself

Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Party have attempted to distance themselves from Just Stop Oil, with the party leader referring to their demands as "contemptible." Both Labour and Mr. Vince have been contacted for comment.
