Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, launched a scathing attack on Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer during a heated Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs) session. Sunak accused Starmer of being "ultra-woke" and "out of touch" with British values.

Taking the Knee and Abolishing the Monarchy

Sunak criticized Starmer for his decision to take the knee and for reportedly supporting the abolition of the monarchy. He also accused Starmer of being confused about the definition of a woman. The Chancellor highlighted a recent statement from a frontbencher in Starmer's party, who expressed support for teaching divisive white privilege in schools.

Sunak said, "Looking at his record, it's crystal clear which one of us doesn't get Britain's values."

Association with a Proscribed Group

The Chancellor also seized the opportunity to condemn Starmer's previous affiliation with the now-proscribed terrorist group, Hizb ut-Tahrir, during his time as a lawyer. Sunak argued that Labour is engaged in "yet more sniping from the sidelines."

He added, "You can see exactly why Hizb ut-Tahrir hired him in the first place."

Labour's Lack of Plan

Sunak further criticized Starmer for his party's lack of direction and accused him of not having a plan for the country. He highlighted the growing discontent within Labour, citing calls for Sunak's removal by former cabinet minister Sir Simon Clarke.

The Chancellor concluded, "He wants to talk about these things, even his own party is now realizing that he simply doesn't have a plan for this country."

Starmer Hits Back

In response, Sir Keir defended his record as the director of public prosecutions, emphasizing his role in putting terrorists and murderers behind bars. He also criticized Sunak for profiting from the financial crisis.

Starmer further attacked the Prime Minister for his inability to maintain unity within his own party. He questioned whether Sunak understood why his own MPs believe he is hindering Britain's recovery.
