DISASTROUS PM Liz Truss has been paid £216,000 for just 14 hours of work since she stepped down – and she’s even mopping up free gig tickets.

She accepted two VIP spots to see Bruce Springsteen – known as The Boss – worth £549 when he performed in London earlier this summer.

Her latest wad of cash came last month.

She told an MPs’ watchdog: “24 July 2023, received £32,000 from News Agenda Ltd, 2nd Floor, 148 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3AT, for participating in a discussion at the News Xchange conference held in Dublin.

“The payer also provided me, my husband and a staff member with accommodation valued at approximately £720, and flights valued at £2,377. Hours: 2 hrs. (Registered 02 August 2023).”

The South West Norfolk Conservative MP joined London-based corporate speakers agency Chartwell after her 44-day stint in Number 10.

In May, she received £80,000 for speaking in Taiwan and last month she picked up £32,000 for a talk in Switzerland.

In February, Chartwell paid her £65,751.62 for a speaking engagement in Mumbai, India, at a conference organised by media company ABP Networks, which she attended for four hours.

Accommodation – for Ms Truss and a member of staff – was also paid for, valued at £1,800.

Expenses, including flights, were also covered, according to the register of MPs’ interests.

In her Mumbai speech, Ms Truss, recently re-selected to fight for the South West Norfolk seat she has held since 2010, highlighted how crucial India’s role on the world stage is.

A month later, she received almost £6,500 through Chartwell for a speaking engagement at Tokyo University.

Ministerial watchdog Acoba cleared Ms Truss to join the agency.

The total number of hours listed as being devoted to the speeches adds up to just 12 hours.

In her final speech as prime minister, Ms Truss said she looked forward “to spending more time in my constituency and continuing to serve South West Norfolk from the backbenches”.
