Piles of Plonk and Peroni Arrive at Manchester Hotel
Dozens of boxes of wine and Peroni beer have been unloaded at the Midland Hotel in Manchester as the Conservative Party gets ready for their annual conference. Security staff have been busy for the past four days stuffing pallets of booze into the hotel.
Tower of Peroni and Crates of Champagne Pommery
In addition to the wine and beer, the hotel has also received crates of Champagne Pommery and spirits from the Edinburgh Gin Distillery. The pavements are stacked with bottles of Fever Tree soda for mixers.
Hopes for 'War on Drivers' to End
There are hopes that Chancellor Rishi Sunak will use the conference to address the "war on drivers" by greedy councils. The Prime Minister's Plan for Motorists could potentially roll back 20mph zones and bus lanes, and put limits on fines and low-traffic neighborhoods created by town halls.
Conference Set to Begin on Sunday
The Tory annual conference is set to begin on Sunday, with Prime Minister attending and addressing the party faithful on both Sunday and the following Wednesday.
