However, during a heated confrontation with Phil Mitchell on his wedding day to Alfie's ex, Kat Slater, the truth finally comes out.

Alfie's Emotional Revelation

During the clash with Phil Mitchell, Alfie punches him and unveils his cancer diagnosis. Overwhelmed, Alfie admits that his recent erratic behavior was due to his battle with prostate cancer. Phil is left stunned when Alfie reveals that he is scheduled for a prostatectomy.

As Alfie heads to the hospital for his procedure, Phil arrives late to the registry office, causing panic among the wedding party. Kat realizes her ex-husband is missing and becomes worried.

Linda Supports Alfie

Meanwhile, Linda, who learns about Alfie's hospital visit from Mitch, puts two and two together and rushes to support Alfie during his prostatectomy.

An Accurate Portrayal

EastEnders is working closely with Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as experts in the field, to ensure the storyline is portrayed sensitively and accurately. Executive producer, Chris Clenshaw, has described it as a "tough road ahead" for Alfie.

He said, "We knew it was imperative that we worked alongside Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support to accurately portray such an emotional and pivotal storyline for Alfie. Shane has thoughtfully portrayed the realities of being diagnosed with prostate cancer with grace and understanding. We hope that this storyline resonates with the audience and is represented sensitively."

EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
