Simon’s wife Emma took over a tearooms near to their home in Cheshire around the same time of his accident.

Now it’s been revealed he’s been helping out with occasional shifts with his new-found spare time.

A source told HOAR: “Simon’s been spotted helping out on a few occasions.”

Simon’s former Corrie co-star Angela Lonsdale also shared a snap of her and Simon outside the tearooms yesterday.

Angela, who played Emma Watts on the soap from 2000 until 2004, praised the new business as a “hidden gem”.

The actress, who most recently appeared in Hollyoaks, also shared her joy at reuniting with Simon as she supported him and Emma’s new venture.

Simon has played Steve on the ITV soap since 1989.

Last year, he finished as runner-up to fellow soap star Danny Miller in I’m A Celebrity, beating The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge to second place.
