IN another shake-up to the viewing schedules both ITV soaps have been axed tonight.

With the arrival of the 2022 World Cup, the TV schedules have been thrown into chaos and disarray with many popular shows being booted from the usual timeslots.

Chas’ storyline is hotting up in Emmerdale

Martha is back in the Corrie episode

As a result of ITV broadcasting the England v USA game tonight, both Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been bumped from the schedules.

As a result, both soaps will be airing on Sunday, in an unconventional move.

Emmerdale will lead the two airing an hour-long special from 6pm before being followed by an hour-long edition of Manchester based soap Coronation Street.

However, if you do not want to wait that long, ITV have surpirsed fans by making the episodes avalible in advance of their TV broadcast on ITVX.

The episodes were released earlier this week as part of a move by ITV to attempt to avoid the chaos by making them avalible to be watched at a convenient time by the viewer.

The arrival of the sporting tournament has wreaked havoc for TV lisitngs.

Running from November 20 to December 8, the tournament will air on both ITV and the BBC – with the soap schedules in chaos because of it.

Typically, ITV broadcasts the equivalent of six episode per soap each week.

Emmerdale airs Monday-Friday at 7:30pm with Thursday’s edition being an hour-long affair.

Whilst Coronation Street is broadcast as three 60 mineute episodes a week, airing on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm.
