She’s the mother of Tim Metcalfe and hasn’t had much luck when it comes to men.
Elaine is due to marry serial killer Stephen, blissfully unaware of the danger she faces.
On Wednesday’s instalment of Coronation Street fans watched as Stephen and Elaine had a consultation ahead of their wedding.
Tim has objected to their nuptials but attended the consultation alongside Stephen’s mother Audrey Roberts.
However, fans were left stunned when they discovered how close in age Elaine is to Audrey, who is played by Sue Nicholls.
Paula is 73 years old, while Sue is 79.
Taking to social media, viewers commented on their small age gap as Audrey is soon to become her mother-in-law.
One said: “Woah… Audrey is going to be Elaine’s mother in law. I just realised.”
A second wrote: “There’s only 6 years between Audrey and Elaine (as actresses).”
“I’m stunned I didn’t realise how Elaine and Audrey are practically the same age,” said a third.
