CORONATION Street fans have threatened to quit Corrie if Geoff is redeemed tonight.
The bully is set to discover that poor Yasmeen is trying to make her escape – and fans are sick of watching his evil ways.
Fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration about the torturous soap storyline which has left viewers screaming at their TV screens.
One viewer expressed on social media: “Time to boycott Coronation Street. The Geoff storyline is disturbing and disgraceful.
Another added: “Coronation Street viewers vow to boycott soap over Yasmeen and Geoff scenes. This storyline is so stupid and has been dragged out for so long it’s becoming a right bore. Why do these soaps take so long to do a storyline. People get fed up.”
One avid fan vented: “Be glad to see the back of Geoff but I’m with everyone else if they make him look like the victim and drag it on and on I will be hacked off. Prob resulting in a Corrie boycott.”
The actor Ian Bartholomew who plays Geoff told Lorraine about his children not being able to watch him playing Geoff because of his domestic abuse storyline.
He confessed: “I don’t like him [Geoff] very much at all. ”
“They didn’t want to watch, they saw me lock Yasmeen into the box, the ‘magic box’ and they said, ‘No, can’t watch Dad doing that’.
“So they haven’t watched since then and I can’t blame them. It must be quite difficult for them to watch their dad being unpleasant the whole time.”
Earlier in the week Coronation Street viewers complained to Ofcom over Geoff’s sick abuse of Yasmeen.
Fans were left horrified when he forced her into sex in a recent episode – despite her being in obvious pain.
The abuser – who is played by actor Ian Bartholomew in the ITV soap – has given his wife chlamydia after he cheated on her with a succession of prostitutes – but she is yet to know that.
Instead she has been left in considerable pain from it and Geoff’s manipulations have left her even weaker.
