STEPHEN Reid has been wreaking havoc in the cobbles since his arrival and one of his targets was Underworld boss Carla Connor.

The Coronation Street serial killer is startled when she reappears in Weatherfield.

Stephen Reid is still up to no good

He’s been leading on Elaine Metcalfe

But he’s startled by Carla Connor’s return to the cobbles

In his quest to take control of the Underworld factory, Stephen Reid (portrayed by Canadian actor Todd Boyce) has had no regard for anybody but himself.

To make matters worse, he resorted to underhanded and illegal ways to get what he wants, particularly after Carla Connor (Alison King) undermined him in public.

Carla and her husband Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) became increasingly convinced she was suffering from another psychotic breakdown, unaware that Stephen was actually responsible for her mental state as he’d been spiking her with LSD the entire time.

As a result, Carla was taken into a mental health facility while Stephen managed to overrule her and take over business at the Underworld factory.

Unfortunately for Stephen, all good things must come to an end.

Next week on ITV, Carla returns from the clinic and makes amends with an apologetic Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) for his compensation claim.

The builder fired back at Carla after she almost mowed him over with a van while under the influence of LSD.

Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) calls to see Stephen and puts forward his case for a cut of the profits.

However, Stephen doesn’t pay any attention to him as he’s distracted by Carla’s arrival.

What will Stephen do?

Could he resort to drugging her again?

Could Carla know the same fate as Leo and Teddy Thompkins?

While that remains to be seen, Stephen is also leading on Elaine Metcalfe (Paula Wilcox) and has promised to take their relationship to the next level by moving in with her.

But next week, Elaine reminds him that the solicitor needs proof of funds for them to be able to buy a house together.

Michael doesn’t make things any easier for him when he reveals he’s promised the Underworld girls an even bigger bonus off the back of the new deal.

Stephen will have to mask his fury and call businessman Rufus to try and renegotiate their terms.

But what will he do when Rufus is set to refuse?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
