CORONATION Street legend Jim McDonald could soon be making another epic return, according to actor Charlie Lawson.
The star, 62, has claimed he’s been in talks with the soap to bring back Steve McDonald’s dad.
He’s believed to have expressed interest in making a comeback and reached out to Corrie bosses.
Teasing plans to return again, Charlie told GB News: “There’s every chance my character could make a comeback but it’s not going to be as easy as my last return a few years ago. “
Charlie first stepped onto the cobbles in 1989 as iconic character Jim with his wife Liz, played by Beverley Callard, and their twin teenage sons Steve and Andy.
Charlie has been in and out of the soap ever since – and was last seen in 2018 after Jim’s release from prison.

But after getting involved in a scam, he soon did a runner and his curreny location is unknown.
But in a swipe at the soap, the actor said the writers’ “woke” attitude puts him off.
He said: “People are terrified of offending people and I hear from the cast that you can’t say boo to a goose anymore unless you offend someone. And that offends me to be honest with you.”
ITV has been approached for comment.
The Northern Irishman went down in soap history thanks to his portrayal of fiery Jim, the patriarch of the McDonald family.
His storylines often revolved around his family relationships and various crimes, which resulted in several stints in prison.
Jim was jailed for the manslaughter of drug dealer Jez, after seeking retribution for an attack on son Steve.
Later storylines included him escaping from prison, divorcing barmaid Liz for a second time, and then being sent back to prison for a bank robbery.
