DAME Maureen Lipman will be returning to Coronation Street after the soap star quit the soap.
Maureen, who plays Evelyn Plummer, took a break from the cobbles after admitting that she was “worn out” by her character’s exit story.

However, HOAR can exclusively reveal that Maureen, 77, has been spotted with co-stars from the show – signaling her return.
She posed in a fan’s photo in front of the BBC studios beside Claire Sweeney.
Her character’s storyline was set to ramp up after the arrival of Claire’s character Cassie – the biological mother of Tyrone Dobbs.
In the soap, Tyrone grew up believing his mum was Jackie (Margi Clarke) but Jackie had actually found him at a police station after he had been abandoned by Evelyn.
Evelyn didn’t believe his real mum could cope with bringing up a child so thought she was doing the right thing.
Speaking on Loose Women back in May, she said: “They’ve really put me through it the last few weeks. I’ve had seven scenes to learn a day.
“The last shot [from] last night, I literally laid on the floor and said: ‘I can’t go on.’”
A photo of her lying on the floor was shown to the panel and audience.
Whilst on a break from Corrie, she worked on a one-woman show in the West End called Rose.
It follows the story of a woman who travels from Nazi-occupied Europe to start a new life in America.
Maureen has been a firm favourite on Corrie since she joined in 2018, so fans will be thrilled to have her back.
Claire will be returning to the soap on June 28 for the jaw-dropping family reunion.
Fans will struggle to recognise her as she plays the heroin addict.
“Working with Maureen, she’s just like a masterclass. She’s so fantastic,” she told Express.co.uk.
“I’m just looking forward to doing more stuff with her as with Alan. When I did my screen test with Alan, what a wonderful actor he is as well.
“I’m surrounded by great people.”
