WEATHERFIELD newcomer Owen is getting on Stephen Reid’s bad side and he could come to regret it.

Tonight in Coronation Street, the serial killer snaps as his time at the head of the Underworld factory could come to an end.

Owen threatens Stephen Reid

The newcomer wants to buy the Underworld factory

Stephen immediately turns to Elaine in the hopes of saving his job

Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) was finally able to take over the Underworld factory after drugging Carla Connor and making her believe she was spiralling into another psychotic episode.

However, his own plan backfires when newcomer Owen (Ben Hull) decides to buy Carla’s business after the Underworld boss decided to step back for the sake of her mental health.

To make matters worse, Owen has taken an interest in Jenny Connor, the same woman Stephen is harbouring a secret obsession for.

Tonight on ITV, Owen strides over to Stephen and reveals that after a frank discussion with Jenny, they’d both like to know why he told them each a pack of lies.

As Stephen scratches about for a plausible reason, Owen tells him that once he takes over the factory, he’s fired.

Stephen warns Carla against selling the factory but she insists that she has to for her own mental well-being.

The villain kicks himself, knowing his own miscalculated actions have led him to this point.

Frustrations of the day getting the better of him, Stephen trashes the factory floor.

Arriving to witness his meltdown, Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) wonders what’s going on.

In later scenes, Stephen decides he has only one way out – asking his other half Elaine Metcalfe (Paula Wilcox) to invest in Carla’s share of the Underworld business.

He makes this suggestion to Elaine as they unpack in their new flat but she snaps at him.

Elaine spells out that she will never invest a penny in the factory and they should simply enjoy their retirement.

Stephen masks his fury – could he be about to come up with another plan involving murder?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
