DANGER is everywhere online but, unfortunately, Hope Stape has no clue on how to spot it.
All hell breaks loose for the girl in her family next week in Coronation Street as the identity of her groomer is revealed.
Fiz is horrified to see her story with John Stape in the Gazette
Her and Tyrone believe Phill Whittaker may have had something to do with it
But the culprit is actually closer to home
The young girl portrayed by Isabella Flanagan has been chatting to an unknown pal online named “Mad Dog” as shown in July, 2022.
Immediately, ITV viewers suspected there could be something fishy with Hope’s new friend, much like Sam Blakeman (portrayed by Jude Riordan).
And as it will all turn out in upcoming scenes of the Manchester-based program, fans were right all along.
This all occurs as Hope’s mother Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) realises her story with serial killer John Stape has hit the headlines.
At No.9, her partner Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) shows her the first extract from a book dedicated to John Stape in the Gazette.
Her heart sinks and she quickly hides the newspaper from Hope.
Fiz later suggests to Tyrone they call the journalist who worked on the book with her jilted fiancé Phill Whittaker – but the culprit could be closer to home.
The second instalment of the book is then published in the Gazette and Fiz discovers it alongside Tyrone with horror.
This prompts him to get solicitor Adam Barlow’s help and they discuss a plan of action.
However, a call from Hope’s teacher telling them the girl has been kidnapped interrupts them.
Fortunately, Hope hasn’t completely vanished and she’s found in the company of Sam in Victoria Garden.
Sam explains to Fiz that Hope was upset about some nasty comments made by her classmates as his father Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) reveals Sam will have to stay away from Hope.
This leads to increasing tension between the adults as Tyrone’s temper soon gets the best of him and he punches Nick.
Amid the conflict, it becomes clear that Hope was groomed online into giving out information about her family by the journalist behind the John Stape book.
In later scenes, Adam tells Fiz and Tyrone there’s a chance they could take out a privacy injunction against the journalist.
But will they go through with it?
Meanwhile, Hope drops a bombshell by revealing Sam isn’t the golden boy he makes himself out to be.
According to her, the youngster is still writing letters to murderous Harvey Gaskell.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
Tensions arise between Sam Blakeman, Hope Stape and their respective families
