TRAINEE mechanic Aaron Sandford doesn’t have the healthiest relationship with his abusive father.
But when Eric’s life hangs in balance, the lad is beside himself next week in Coronation Street.
Aaron is being abused by his alcoholic father
But their relationship could take a turn after Eric ends up in a house fire
Aaron is troubled by his father being at an inch of his life
Since his first appearance in the cobbles, the teen portrayed by James Craven kept to himself.
This was until he became an item with fellow youngster Summer Spellman (played by Harriet Bibby).
While his life remained somewhat of a mystery for months, it soon came to light that he was being abused by his father, Eric.
Coming up on ITV, Aaron is bombarded with texts from his angry dad, prompting his girlfriend Summer to beg him not to go home out of worry.
Instead, Billy Mayhew and Todd Grimshaw agree to check up on Eric and they simply report back that he was drunk and angry.
Later on, however, the police show up at the flat and Aaron is stunned when the officer tells him his father is actually in hospital after a house fire.
Eric comes to when Aaron pays him a visit in later scenes – before groggily wishing that he hadn’t survived.
Aaron is heartbroken and blames himself for leaving his father unsupervised and with no way of contacting him.
Sadly, this prompts Aaron to shut his girlfriend out as Summer begs him to let her share his burden.
The youngster is adamant that he has to focus on taking care of his father instead of on their relationship and Summer is crushed.
Meanwhile, Billy is found entertaining a couple named Mike and Esther in the flat.
Knowing about her issues with Aaron, the archdeacon believes it would be good for her to stay busy.
When Mike and Esther explain they are running a charity clothes swap event, Billy thus volunteers Summer to help.
But how will Summer react to Billy’s initiative?
Summer has shown off her rebellious streak in the past, particularly as she cheated on her exams, determined to get a spot in Oxford.
Could she risk another argument with Billy to tend to Aaron?
Will their relationship survive Aaron taking a step back?
A forensics team have arrived and have begun their investigations at Whitehills Nature Park.
Will his father get help?
