Coronation Street actor Kyran Bowes, known for his role as Jack Webster, is set to make his comeback on the popular soap next week. The young star took a break from the show to focus on his GCSE exams, but now that he has received his results, he's ready to get back to work.
A Successful Study Break
During his time away, Kyran dedicated himself to his studies and it paid off. He recently shared a photo on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing him at home celebrating with confetti. In a post accompanying the photo, Kyran expressed his happiness at passing his GCSEs and thanked his fans for their support.
Grateful for the Support
Upon sharing his achievement, Kyran's fans flooded his social media account with congratulatory messages. One fan even commented on his marvellous photo, while another expressed their excitement at seeing him back on the screen. The Corrie star certainly felt the love and appreciated the well-wishes from his dedicated followers.
A Long-Running Role
Kyran is the fifth actor to portray the character of Jack Webster on Coronation Street, and he also holds the record for the longest-running portrayal with 132 episodes under his belt. He took over the role in 2016 from twins Maddox and Jaxon Beswick. Jack, the son of Kevin Webster and the late Molly Dobbs, has been involved in several significant storylines during his time on the show.
An Abduction and a Life-Altering Condition
In 2015, Jack's character was kidnapped by Jenny Bradley, who had returned to the Street and started a relationship with Kevin. Traumatized by the loss of her own son, Jenny even contemplated taking Jack to Hull and jumping off a balcony with him. Eventually, she returned Jack to his father Kevin. In 2018, the young character faced another dramatic turn of events when he developed sepsis and had to have his leg amputated. The soap utilized special effects and green-screen technology to create the illusion of Jack's missing leg.
