Speak Out and Extra Security

Lipman's comments criticizing "bleeding heartless liberals" who condemn Israel's response to attacks without mentioning Hamas led ITV to provide her with extra security. Lipman expressed surprise at being offered security guards, emphasizing the reality of the current situation.

Another Jewish actress, Tracy-Ann Oberman, is also being provided security for her touring version of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. She described the situation as a "dystopian nightmare."

Lipman, who has played Evelyn since 2018, is among the 70,000 signatories of The October Declaration, which condemns the Hamas attacks and the surge in anti-Semitism. The Community Security Trust recorded a record 805 anti-Semitic incidents in the UK in just 21 days after October 7.

An ITV source assured that the well-being of the cast and crew is of utmost importance and that Lipman has the full support of the network.
