Assault Charges Dropped

Karen Briggs, 54, and her daughter Emma Beach, 35, have admitted to assaulting two women last year. The charges of actual bodily harm and theft were dropped as the victims did not wish to go to trial.

Remanded in Custody

Briggs and Beach, who have a history of previous convictions, including drugs, assaults, and shoplifting, have been remanded in custody. They will be sentenced next year.

Ban on Entering Surrey

Last year, a judge imposed a ban on Briggs and Beach entering Surrey, unless it is for court appearances, probation service appointments, or hospital visits.

Apology to Famous Father

Karen Briggs publicly apologized to her late father, Johnny Briggs, who played factory owner Mike Baldwin in Coronation Street. She apologized in 2018 after he reportedly disowned her for giving drugs to her daughter when she was just 14 years old.

Legacy of Johnny Briggs

Johnny Briggs, who appeared in over 2,300 episodes of Coronation Street, passed away at the age of 85 in February 2021. He split his estate equally among his six children.
