CORONATION Street’s Andy Whyment was forced to leave a festival after drunk fans harrassed him – upsetting his family.

The Corrie star, 42, who plays Kirk Sutherland in the hit ITV soap, attended Haydock Park Racecourse to see Craig David perform, with his wife and two children.

But things soon took a turn for the worse as drunk revellers, who recognised him, made it impossible for him to stay as they started to harrass him – upsetting his daughter.

Fuming, Andy’s wife Nichola, who married the TV actor in 2007, took to social media to voice her fury.

She said: “Would love to say I had the best time watching Craig but the reality of it is I didn’t!!”

She added: ” I enjoyed 11 minutes!! The rest of the time I was on edge due to really drunk people accosting Andy & becoming arsey which resulted in Hollie getting upset & us having to leave!! “

But they managed to watch the famous R&B star in the end. She ended her rant saying: “Well luckily @the_bus_yard saved the day and we watched Craig from on there but my head had fallen off by this point. “

She continued: “I’m annoyed with myself for thinking that we are able to go somewhere like this as a family and enjoy it. “

She then said: “Social media only shows the highlights as looking at these pictures you would think we had the best time ever so a little reminder to not compare yourself to others .”
