CORONATION Street star Alan Halsall has been flooded with messages from his co-stars whilst celebrating his birthday in Cyprus.

The actor – who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap – is currently on holiday with girlfriend Tisha Merry as he turns 40 today.

Taking to Instagram to mark the occasion, Andy Whyment shared a touching message to his pal on his special day.

Best known for playing Kirk Sutherland in Corrie, the soap star shared a selection of snaps of himself and Alan to his profile.

The first photo showed the pair at a red carpet event, while another was taken on a night out together.

Another hilarious snap captured Andy and Alan dressed as green toy soldiers.

Andy captioned the post: “Today @alanhalsall turns 40 we’ve known each other for over 30 years, I feel so lucky that I can call you my best mate my brother.

“Happy 40th Birthday have the best day. Love you bro.”

Taking to the comments, Alan replied: “All the pictures and memories I have with you… and you pic that as your 1st pic.”

The soap star was referring to the red carpet snap taken at the 2007 Inside Soap Awards.

Meanwhile, many fans were left gobsmacked over Alan’s age.

One commented: “No way Tyrone is 40 defo does not look it (not since the hair transplant!).”

A second wrote: “You two haven’t changed hardly at all.” 

Another shared: “Happy 40th. You look so young, lucky you. Have a good day.”

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon also took to Instagram to share a birthday tribute to Alan.

The actress posted a selection of photos of herself and Alan over the years, including a throwback from their early days at Corrie.

She penned: “Couldn’t not post this beauty today… have the best day my friend!

“Here’s to the next 40 years of you being a legend.”
