CORONATION Street star Simon Gregson is selling 30 personalised videos to fans – but has been banned from mentioning the soap.

The actor – who plays Steve McDonald in the ITV soap – has been signed up by a company to offer the self-filmed video messages to his biggest fans via an online service.

Simon’s former co-star Charlie is also selling videos

And while Simon’s fans will no doubt be thrilled to receive a message from him – they won’t get one that mentions Corrie – or anything connected to it.

In a warning posted on the website, it reads: “Simon cannot mention character names/locations etc from the TV Programme that he is in!

“Great as gifts for birthdays, Christmas, weddings, personal connections and much more. You can watch, download, share, & keep your video forever.”

However it seems people are overjoyed by the recorded messages they have been paying for.

The actor has been in the soap for 30 years

One wrote: “I appreciate this so much! Funny that Simon had a bit of nose issue part way through!

“I think my wife will find this video to be very special.”

Another added: “Thank you so very much for the personal video! I was all smiles watching and listening to what Simon had to say love this idea and I hope that a lot more people get involved!

“A wonderful early birthday present to me!”

Other Corrie stars flogging the videos include Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter Barlow in the ITV soap, and Charlie Lawson who plays Simon’s on-screen dad Jim McDonald.

Former Corrie stars Adam Rickitt is charging 25 for his videos, while Lois Emerick is getting 30 for his video messages.
