Ryan Connor's dark secret exposed by Daniel Osbourne
In the upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, Ryan Connor's hidden life starts to come undone as Daniel Osbourne stumbles upon a disturbing revelation about the troubled waiter.
Ryan, who has been grappling with his self-image since a vicious acid attack at the Rovers Return earlier this year, has taken to cam work and resorted to using steroids in an attempt to regain his confidence.
A moment of panic for Ryan
However, next week, his life takes a dramatic turn when he receives a message after finishing one of his livestreams. The message informs him that his filter dropped out and a subscriber recognized him as the victim of the acid attack, which had been widely covered in the press.
Taken aback and desperate to deny it, Ryan's efforts prove fruitless. Things escalate further when Suki from Gazette approaches him. She has seen some screen grabs from his porn videos and is aware of his past traumatic experience, expressing an interest in conducting an interview.
A public revelation
Unbeknownst to Ryan, Carla Connor insists that he joins her for lunch at the Rovers. However, when Izzy Armstrong comes across the Gazette article, she gathers a group of people, which includes Glenda Shuttleworth, Sean Tully, Carla, Daisy Midgeley, and Daniel Osbourne, to discuss it.
As Ryan returns from the restroom, he is mortified to realize that they are all talking about him. How will he react?
Ryan makes a drastic decision
In later scenes, Ryan decides to move out of Carla and Peter's home and starts looking for flats to rent. He even catches the attention of wayward teen Lauren Bolton, who offers him the spare room at her precinct flat. This worries Carla and Daisy, but will they be able to stop him?
Daniel's intervention and a shocking discovery
Trying to mend their strained relationship, Daniel lends a hand to Ryan as he moves his things into the new flat. When some lads mock Ryan over his scars, he explodes in anger. Daniel steps in to defuse the situation and notices a stash of testosterone among Ryan's belongings.
Ryan had been using steroids, which has played a part in his increasingly uncontrollable behavior. In a recent outburst, he lashed out at Carla, and though she forgave him, her husband, Peter Barlow, warned Ryan that such behavior cannot be repeated.
A glimmer of hope for Ryan?
