LEGENDARY EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt looked unrecognisable in his latest selfie as his brand new beard took centre stage.

The former soap star has sported the dramatically different look in recent weeks having grown out a huge beard for his recent theatre role.

He has been sporting the bushy facial hair in recent months

He looked worlds away from his BBC days

However, despite professing to have tidied his beard up somewhat for his latest snap, the 54 year old actor still looked worlds away from Albert Square and his character Ian Beale.

Adam has been appearing in the touring production of My Fair Lady and told his Instagram followers that he was in dire need of a beard trim.

Writing alongside the new selfie, Adam penned: “A much needed beard tidy up after playing Alfred P Doolittle in @myfairladyuk since September.”

He also joked that his new beard would enable him to run quicker after confirming he was about to start his training for the London Marathon.

Adam will be running the marathon in support of his former co-star Barbara Windsor who sadly passed away in 2020.

He added: “Now for some @londonmarathon training. Please follow @babsarmy to support and encourage all of us before April 23rd.

“With me new streamlined beard hopefully I’ll run faster!!”

The star was recently seen donning his finest Lycra for his training.

He was joined by his former EastEnders co-star Tanya Franks, who plays Rainie Highway in the soap.

They were with Barbara’s devoted husband Scott Mitchell in preparing for the London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

They are part of a team of EastEnders stars past and present called Babs’ Army, who also include Jake Wood and Natalie Cassidy.

The trio went on a run in Regents’ Park for a feature on ITV’s regional news show London Tonight.
