Fans are convinced Cindy Beale is returning with a new identity

Rose Knight walked out on her own family nine years ago, leaving her then-husband George Knight (portrayed by Colin Salmon) to raise their two daughters Anna and Gina.

But in scenes airing soon on BBC One, the former boxer finds out what really happened to his wife – and his own secrets leave him struggling to cope next week.

Teasing the big reveal, EastEnders have been sharing trailer clips on their social media account.

With the Queen Vic pub visible in the background, “Every Rose… Has a Thorn” flashes up on screen.

Eagle-eyed viewers have noticed if the ‘E’ is removed from Rose it would spell out Ros Thorne.

After Cindy Beale fled Walford when it was revealed she had paid a hitman to murder Ian Beale, he had hired a private investigator to track her down.

The investigator’s name was Ros – who managed to find Cindy in Italy and reunite Ian with his sons before Cindy was arrested.

But with Michelle Collins now reprising her role as Cindy as bosses bring her back from the dead, it’s been speculated the criminal has changed her identity.

Viewers are convinced Cindy adopted the new name as Rose faked her own death.

Taking to social media to comment on the Ros Thorne clue, one fan said: “Great detective work.”

A second wrote: “Omg this is so clever if this is true!!”

“Omg you’re a genius,” said a third.

In Wednesday’ episode, viewers will finally learn more about Rose in a dramatic instalment.

Show bosses are keeping the unveil so secret that they’ve not uploaded the episode on BBC iPlayer until it airs on television.

EastEnders airs at 7:30pm tonight on BBC One.
