EASTENDERS fans have slammed The One Show after actress Danielle Harold was ‘snubbed’ during an appearance on the sofa.

Danielle, 30, was invited on to Wednesday’s episode of the BBC1 programme to talk about her harrowing storyline on the soap.

EastEnders’ Danielle Harold appeared on Wednesday’s The One Show

But fans accused hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas of ‘snubbing’ her

The actress’ character Lola Pearce has been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour and she was on the sofa to talk about it.

In previous interviews, Danielle has told how filming the difficult scenes was “humbling” but that she hopes it will help to raise awareness of the disease.

But One Show viewers were left fuming after Danielle was given just a few minutes to speak to hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas.

They instead spent a large proportion of the show talking to fellow guest, sports commentator Gabby Logan, about her upcoming book release.

And when Danielle’s moment came, they continued jumping back to Gabby to ask her about moments in her life and autobiography.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their anger about how little time Danielle was given to talk.

One raged: “Im sorry I thought you brought Danielle on the show to talk about the coverage of Lola’s brain cancer storyline? Such an important subject yet you turned today’s episode into the gabby show #disappointed #TheOneShow.”

Another chimed in: “I bet Danielle Harold is wondering why she bothered showing up. They gave her about 2 minutes and even then kept going back to Gabby Logan.”

A third added: “So f***ing rude, Danielle comes on to talk about something important and the presenters talk over to talk to Gabby. So unprofessional.”

And a fourth mused: “‘Nice to see you, Danielle. Coming back to you, Gabby…..'”

Someone else even begged producers of The One Show: “Please invite danielle back again, she wasn’t asked many questions and only got to say a couple words!!!”

During her few minutes of airtime, Danielle spoke about the impact a cancer diagnosis has on family members.

“With a diagnosis like this, it doesn’t just affect the person. It massively affects the whole family around the person as well,” she explained.

“It’s massively important for us to show all those different dynamics in a disease like that.

“For families at home and wives and children dealing with it. And I’ve got a little one in it as well, to show her side of things to deal with it as a child. It’s just been amazing to see that all come together.”

Alex then gestured to Gabby and said: “On a lighter note, though, Gabby told us about her leotard days on Blue Peter and how it shaped the woman she is today!”

Danielle was given a few moments to talk about her journey into showbiz, which began with a stint on Jamie Oliver’s documentary Jamie’s Dream School.

Jermaine then decided to ask Gabby about her appearance on BBC reality show Freeze The Fear, which aired in April this year.

She told him she had kept up with “cold showers”, laughing that they are “invigorating”.

Jermaine then switched back to Danielle and read out a viewer’s comment, saying: “Joanna says, ‘Danielle is a revelation in this current storyline. What wonderful acting’.”

Alex quickly chipped in: “I’m just gonna say one quick thing. In Gabby’s book, there’s a story about the Queen. Can you do it in about five seconds?”

Gabby rapidly explained that Queen Elizabeth II had asked her how she breastfeed her twins, before The One Show credits rolled.
