EASTENDERS fans got a double helping of OMGs and WTFs tonight after Ian and Sharon ended up getting married on his “deathbed” AND Bobby admitted he was the one who attacked him.

Viewers were astounded when the chip shop owner declared his undying love for his “best friend” and proposed on Tuesday night’s episode.

Ian and Sharon married in tonight’s EastEnders

While Ian and the rest of the country assumed Sharon wouldn’t say yes to him, the Queen Vic landlady shocked everyone by not only agreeing to the marriage but finding an officiant so they could get hitched while Ian is in hospital.

The embattled businessman – who is played by actor Adam Woodyatt in the BBC soap – is in hospital with a bleed on his brain after being assaulted.

It’s been a fraught case of whodunnit, with many possible suspects in the frame – grumpy Ian isn’t very popular on the Square it seems.

However, after Ian has a funny turn and it looks like he’s about to meet his maker, his son Bobby starts shouting out: “I’m sorry dad! It was me!”

Ian then took a turn
Bobby confessed to attacking his dad

Viewers of the show stormed to Twitter to share their shock at the twist.

One wrote: “I’m not convinced that it was Bobby who did it, reckon he is blaming himself because he missed a ritual.”

“In a bit of shock right now.. did anyone catch the look in Sharon’s eyes in that final scene? I think she’s hiding something..” added another.

While a third gasped: “What just happened?!? Why is Sharon holding a poinsettia and marrying Ian?!? Oooh, this is getting interesting!”

It was a dramatic night in Walford

Did Bobby really attack his dad? Or does the troubled youngster think not doing his OCD rituals are to blame for his dad’s state.

Ian was attacked and left for dead in the Queen Vic and rushed to hospital, however doctors discovered the deadly bleed on his brain.

Convinced he is about to meet his maker, Ian confessed to Sharon that he only ever wanted to take care of her – and he wants her to have the Vic.

However with all his debts, Ian isn’t in a position to hand it over, so instead when life insurance pays out, Sharon will receive it from his will.
