Fans love Melissa’s very honest posts

Melissa, who had her son River in March 2020, told her fans: “People change.

“We grow. We adapt. We survive. We learn. Years pass, circumstances change. There were hundreds of versions of you before this point in time and there will be hundreds of you after it. It’s highly unlikely they’re all going to look the same.

“So only holding space for one version of you, actively hating the others, showing them no respect or gratitude or kindness? You’re going to spend a lot of time miserable.

“It’s ok to prefer one to another. It’s ok to wish you had it back, and even work to find some version of it again. But remember that every you is just as worthy as the one before it.”

She added: “You are made up of magic.”

Her fans loved the post, with one person responding: “You do such good work, please carry on.”

Another said: “Thank you so much for your posts. They really are starting to help me see that my body is absolutely fine the way it is and to stop listening to those around me who tell me I’m too fat and need to lose weight.”

While someone else commented: “Absolutely beautiful!!! Needed to see this today.”

Melissa played Lucy on BBC soap EastEnders during the character’s rebellious teenage years, making on-screen dad Ian Beale’s life hell by drinking, smoking, becoming pregnant and even going missing.

But she was axed in 2010 amid rumours bosses weren’t impressed with her off-screen behaviour and attitude outside work after she was spotted in a London nightclub while underage.

Melissa is now focusing on being a body positive parenting influencer.
