EASTENDERS’ Lorraine Stanley has ditched her character Karen Taylor’s bra for good after going without it for months in lockdown.

The no-nonsense Queen of the Launderette usually has one bra strap down when she is seen on screen, but the actress behind the character is now opting to no longer wear it moving forward.

EastEnders’ Lorraine Stanley is set to ditch the infamous bra after mot wearing it for months in lockdown

Asked if Karen has tightened up the undergarment, Lorraine responded: “No she hasn’t. I didn’t wear a bra for the whole time – I have just put one on now – I just don’t like wearing a bra anymore.”

Filming is well under way once again and the Albert Square star commented on having to film a kiss under social distancing rules.

Lorraine recalled: “I had to do a screen kiss – that was weird, literally snogging the screen and the director asking me to move my head and open your eyes. I felt like I was 12 year old. Can’t tell you who it was – might be Max!”

She also joked that she’ll be jumping on her co-stars when social distancing rules are eventually lifted.

Lorraine misses cuddling her co-stars on set and joked she would “jump” on them when social distancing restrictions are lifted

“I’m a big cuddler, I miss cuddling Clair and everyone. That’s the biggest challenge, I miss that. One day – but when? I’ll be jumping on people!,” she exclaimed.

The Taylor clan have not had it easy since their dramatic arrival in Walford back in 2017 and sadly Lorraine predicts more trouble is on the horizon.

“The Taylors are in for a really hard time – we have been filming some really gripping and dramatic stuff that’s all I can say. Watch this space, it’s very dramatic.”

She also gave her thoughts on the BBC serial drama’s highly-anticipated return, suggesting they might even get some new fans.

She added: “We might even get a new audience – people might watch it for the first time which would be great. People have been getting used to new things during lockdown.”

It has been revealed that the real-life partners of cast members are being used as body doubles so EastEnders can film intimate scenes.

Bosses of the BBC One soap have also hired extras from Covid isolation bubbles, allowing them to adhere to social distancing rules.

Additionally, giant transparent plastic screens have been installed on the set.
