Thomas Law will be reprising his role as Peter Beale

Thomas Law will be taking over the role as Peter once again, as he played him before from 2006 and 2010.

Before his exit last year, Peter had a major feud with Ben, who had accidentally assaulted him in a case of mistaken identity.

As well as Peter, Ben will also be reunited with his brother Ian Beale, who is also returning to the square.

Viewers were left reeling after a shocking episode revealed that Ian was living abroad with his ex-wife Cindy Beale, who viewers believed to be dead.

It was a double bombshell as Cindy was also exposed as Rose Knight, married to George Knight who is the new landlord at the Queen Vic.

The former couple have two daughters together, Anna and Gina, who believed their mum walked out on them, but recently hired a private investigator to try and find her.

How will the Knight family react when they eventually come face to face with Cindy?

Max has shared his excitement for the returning characters Ian and Peter.

He told Inside Soap Magazine: “The working and personal dynamic between me and Adam [Woodyatt] has always been brilliant, we have always been good friends and I am looking forward to having it back.

“Tom, who is coming back as Peter, is such a lovely guy. He is a great actor and we have had some scenes together which I have enjoyed a lot.

“Tom is always learning and making good choices – that is what I like to watch as an actor. “

The actor also addressed his character Ben’s new eating disorder storyline.

Viewers have seen Honey Mitchell support Ben through his ordeal and encourage him to tell his loved ones about how he is feeling – but will he listen?

Max added: “He is struggling eternally and physically. I think it’s make or break now for Ben now, it’s his last chance saloon.

“He becomes more set on getting help thanks to Kat, Callum and Jay eventually as well.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
