Sure, you can plug it in and play your favourite games wired but that can feel quite restrictive.

Most gamers prefer to keep things wireless, so what’s a good way to preserve battery life for your PlayStation 5’s controllers?

Well, it turns out there’s a hidden setting on the console which could help.

One mistake people sometimes make it leaving their PS5 and controllers on but idle.

Maybe you got distracted or just completely forgot to turn them off.

Whatever reason, this is a huge waste of battery.

By default, your controller will stay on whenever you leave it on the side powered on.

Fortunately Sony has a sleep mode that allows you to automatically switch off the controller after a certain period length of inactivity.

Is there a sleep mode on PS5 controller?

You can set your PS5 controllers to go to sleep after 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes.

To set it up, follow these simple steps:

  • Go to Settings on the Home Screen
  • Click on System
  • Go down to Power Saving
  • Click on Set Time Until Controllers Turn Off
  • Select the amount of time you want

This should help your controller save battery.
