How will the ceremony play out?

The hairstylist played by Danielle Harold succumbed to a terminal brain tumour in late May, 2023.

Although her loved ones tried their best to prepare themselves for her death, Lola left a void they’re finding hard to fill.

During last night’s trip to Walford, Lola’s grandfather Billy Mitchell (portrayed by Perry Fenwick) was seen spiralling as he couldn’t face saying goodbye to her.

But in tonight’s instalment of the BBC One soap, the big day has come and Billy is nowhere to be seen ahead of Lola’s funeral.

Will he be found in time for the event?

Back in the Square, funeral proceedings begin with Lola’s hearse arriving adorned in flowers and colourful messages left by the residents of Walford.

Despite the sadness, the ceremony is in her bubbly image as residents celebrate her life.

Viewers are officially warned to have tissues at the ready as Lola’s husband Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and her daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) are set to give out emotional speeches of their own.

Meanwhile at The Vic, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and The Knights busily prepare for Lola’s wake.

But the Knight family are facing turmoil of their own as George (Colin Salmon) recently found out his missing wife Rose was never who she said she was.

While Anna (Molly Rainford) knows the truth, the rest of the family are tiptoeing around Gina (Francesca Henry) as her dark side could make an appearance.

Will they manage to keep quiet?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
