The gym owner portrayed by Letitia Dean confessed her love in dramatic scenes when she believed Phil (Steve McFadden) would be murdered behind bars.
Upon his return to Albert Square, after he agreed to become a police informant, the Walford baddie shocked soap fans by kissing his former wife one minute and reconciling with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) the next.
Phil and Kat had been on tenterhooks until he found out Sharon was in touch with his brother Grant and felt betrayed.
Eventually, both the owner of Kat’s Cabs and her partner decided to tie the knot – while Sharon had no choice but to find someone else.
In upcoming scenes of the long-running drama, Sharon spends time with a man called Matt, played by actor and writer Torquil Deacon.
Phil and Kat are unaware Sharon may have found herself a man and it’s only revealed to them as they arrive at their stag and hen do.
Sharon invites Matt back to her home following their date – could this be a budding romance?
Later on, however, Sharon is feeling confused and conflicted about her feelings for Phil.
What will she do?
Sharon and Phil have had a complex relationship throughout the decades in the Square.
After getting hitched with his brother Grant in 1991, Sharon fell for Phil and even embarked on an affair with him.
But in 2014, they decided to make their seemingly unbreakable bond official by walking down the aisle.
They separated six years later but remained a constant presence in each other’s lives.
Although she’s had several relationships before and after Phil, Sharon hasn’t been able to move on from him as they’ve continuously bumped into one another and supported each other through thick and thin.
Most recently, Sharon had a short-lived relationship with Kheerat Panesar after she found out Phil and Kat were an item.
