AFTER a major schedule shake-up yesterday, the BBC has decided to resume its regular schedule – with one small change.

While rival soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been cancelled, EastEnders airs tonight on BBC Two.

EastEnders was pulled off the air on Thursday, September 8, 2022

The broadcaster confirmed that the London-based program will air as an addition to the channel’s schedule.

Viewers will catch up with all the Walford drama as the episode pulled off the air on September 8, 2022 airs from 7.30pm.

The instalment will pick up from Billy Mitchell’s arrest in the Queen Vic by DCI Samantha Keeble.

BBC Two is facing considerable changes to its programming for the day as it welcomes a number of BBC One shows.

Other programs in the likes of Doctors, Garden Rescue and Pointless have also been thrown into the mix and will air throughout the day.

Further changes are to be expected throughout the weekend as the rest of the BBC Proms, including the Last Night of the Proms concert due on September 10, 2022, has been cancelled.

As concerns for Queen Elizabeth II‘s health began to emerge on September 8, 2022, the BBC suspended its regular programming from lunchtime.

All programs, including EastEnders, were scrapped for the day and ITV followed suit when news of the Queen’s death broke at 6.30pm.

While BBC Two has been forced to revise its schedule, BBC One will air news coverage of the monarch’s death with a series of BBC News specials airing until 6.30pm.

Over on ITV, both Coronation Street and Emmerdale will not be aired tonight and details of a new air date for the postponed episodes has yet to be confirmed.

Her Majesty The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral Castle at the age of 96, after a seventy-year long reign.

The Queen was surrounded by family when she breathed her last, including her son and heir the Prince of Wales, Charles, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, and the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry.

Charles has automatically become King following Her Majesty’s passing and is now known as King Charles III.

This has also led to Prince William and Kate Middleton to become Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, as stated on their Twitter account, KensingtonRoyal.
