EMMERDALE fans fear Bernice Blackstock actress Samantha Gils will be written out of the soap after bagging panto role.
Samantha is best known for playing the iconic and eccentric beloved Bernice in the ITV soap.

As she has joined the cast of Cinderella at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford
But this Christmas, Samantha will take on a completely different role over the festive period that is world’s away from her Emmerdale character.
It has been announced that she will be swapping the screen for the stage and stepping into panto land as she joins the cast of Cinderella at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford.
She will be taking on the role of Cinderella’s wicked stepmother.
She is set to star alongside Strictly Come Dancing finalist John Whaite as Dandini, and Bradford panto legend Billy Pearce as Buttons.
The 51-year-old actress said: “I am beyond excited to be playing the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella at the Bradford Alhambra Theatre.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Billy Pearce, the absolute King of Panto, and the Alhambra itself is such a beautiful theatre that I have long wished to work at.”
This is not the first time Samantha has been on stage as she has previously appeared in A Taste of Honey, Absent Friends and Season’s Greetings.
In a teaser video, Samantha urged fans to “come along and be prepared to be scared. I want lots of boooooos. I’ll see you there.”
However, fans are now worried Samantha’s new role means Bernice will be written out of the soap.
Bernice has been at the heart of some big Emmerdale storylines this year.
She has been struggling with the menopause and she is currently having an affair with Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).
She set up a B&B with business partner Bob earlier this year, but ended up making a move on him when they had one too many glasses of wine together.
Even though Bob is married to Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson), he is blissfully unaware she is embarking on a steamy affair with village doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
The pair can’t seem to put an end to their adultery, but spoilers have teased that Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) will expose their affair in upcoming scenes.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
