Emmerdale shock as Cain Dingle shoots his estranged son Nate

EMMERDALE fans are in shock after Cain Dingle shot his son Nate Robinson after mistaking him for a rustler.

The mechanic – who is played by actor Jeff Hordley in the BBC soap – thought estranged wife Moira was being attacked by a rustler and pulled the trigger.

But it emerged it wasn’t a rustler, and was in fact Nate – his long lost son.

Nate screamed in agony as he tried to stem the bleeding while Moira called for an ambulance and tried to hide the gun.

It soon became apparent that Nate was convinced Cain shot him purposefully – citing his repeated death threats – but Cain insisted that he hadn’t meant to.

Viewers were in shock at the scenes.

A second said: “Oh nooooooooo Cain has shot Nate #Emmerdale.”

Another added: “OMG Cain shot Nate, his own Son #Emmerdale .”

Later in hospital, despite Nate’s mum Cara Robinson told Cain she knew he was lying about the story he had told and vowed to expose him.
