CHAS Dingle has been sneaking around behind her husband Paddy’s back and her son Aaron knows all about it.
Desperate to keep her affair with Al Chapman a secret, she goes as far as to blackmail her own flesh and blood next week in Emmerdale.
Will Aaron Dingle expose his mother’s affair?
Chas has been secretly involved with Al Chapman
But Aaron feels he owes Paddy the truth
Secrets always have a tendency to be brought to light in the eponymous village.
The Woolpack manager played by Lucy Pargeter is no stranger to how one can be exposed in a flash – and she’d rather avoid the trouble.
For months, Chas has been having an affair with businessman Al Chapman (portrayed by Michael Wildman).
And after being caught once by Belle Dingle, she thought a potential crisis had been avoided when she vowed to put an end to her affair.
Little did she know her son Aaron (Danny Miller) feels he owes his stepfather Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt) the truth after finding out Chas may have no intention of ending things with Al.
After the dramatic events of Emmerdale’s semicentennial, Chas worries Aaron will spill the beans.
Paddy urges Aaron to patch things up with Chas, unaware of her affair with Al, and Aaron reluctantly agrees.
He then accuses his mother of still being with Al, which Chas vehemently denies.
Determined to do anything to keep her illicit romance a secret, Chas stoops to a new low.
Chas emotionally blackmails Aaron into backing down and she’s relived when she successfully pushes him towards the option to leave the village entirely.
Aaron already left the Dales in 2021, after being made to believe his half-sister Liv was responsible for his boyfriend Ben Tucker’s death.
While Aaron makes the decision to get out of the eponymous village once again, Chas covers as her husband Paddy expresses sadness at the news.
However, things fail to add up for Paddy and he begins to worry.
Could he find out the truth without Aaron having to drop the bombshell on him?
Will Aaron really leave Emmerdale, again?
Chas isn’t the only one desperate to keep her affair under wraps as Al is just as adamant on not causing a scandal within his own relationship with Kerry Wyatt.
To make things worse, she asked him to marry her, which he accepted despite telling Chas he was ready to build a future with her.
How much messier will it have to get before the illicit lovers are finally caught out or run away together?
Emmerdale airs from Monday to Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
