EMMERDALE actress Isobel Steele has teased that Liv Flaherty and Vinny Dingle should be reunited as the soap’s new “power couple”.

The teen – who has played Liv since joining the soap in 2016 – has shared her hopes that she would come together with co-star Bradley Johnson on screen.

Isobel, 20, has been at the centre of a storyline focusing around alcoholism, with her character turning to the drink again last week.

Liv’s drinking habits saw her boyfriend Vinny walk away earlier this year, but the actress is keen to see them pull through to be the next power couple.

She told Inside Soap: “I was chatting to Bradley Johnson the other day and we both want them to be together. I think they are such an interesting mix.

“If they can overcome all of this, nothing will stop them. I think they have the potential to be an Emmerdale power couple.

“While they are in their early 20s, they might have storylines as a couple, not just individuals. I’m biased about them, though, as I just want to work with Bradley as much as I can.”

Liv and Vinny’s break up happened after her behaviour continued to get worse, seeing her lash out verbally and physically at those around her.

Vinny broke up with Liv for good during an intense argument earlier this year where she slapped him as he refused to move in with her and her mum Sandra.

It came after months of violent attacks for Vinny at the hands of his gambling-addict father Paul Ashdale, and was the final straw.

Since the break up, things have been difficult for Liv, who has been arguing with big brother Aaron – who is played by Danny Miller.

Isobel recently opened up about filming the emotional scenes, as she admitted at times it can be “too much” for the good friends to act out.

“It’s hard to see Danny so genuinely upset when he taps into that emotion,” she said. “When you have a real-life relationship like we do, where we love each other, it’s quite difficult and sometimes your emotion can be a bit too much for the scene.

“It’s a very vulnerable moment. But we end up more pleased with our performances when it looks as though we are trying to hold back the tears, rather than turning them on for the camera.”
