FORMER Emmerdale star Mark Jordon has sparked rumours he will return as Daz Spencer as he reveals he has the “contract signed” on a secret project.

The actor, 54, left the Dales earlier this year after being charged with assault on a pensioner in a beer garden.

Fans are clamouring for his return as Daz Spencer

However, he was found not guilty – and now he’s set to get his acting career back on track.

Speaking on Twitter, Mark wrote: “Okay, me n my agent sat on the good news. Contract signed. More info to follow.[sic.]”

Fans flooded the replies, hoping this secret project was a return to the ITV soap.

One person wrote: “Oh my that’s terrific news my finger’s crossed hoping you are back in Emmerdale.”

Another added: “you’re coming back to the dales????!!!!”

A third said: “They had bloody better be bringing you back. Or I will never watch again.”

The star has previously told fans he hopes to make a return to Emmerdale.

Last month, he replied to two tweets of fans hoping he’d be back, saying: “I would like that too, love the crew who make it, love my friends who act in it. Great gig.”

He was accused of biting pensioner Andy Potts

To the second tweet he replied: “It would be great to be back love the crew and my acting buddies.”

Jordon was cleared of biting pensioner Andrew Potts, 68, who called his teenage daughter a ‘slag’ in a pub beer garden.

The star was celebrating his engagement to partner and co-star Laura Norton – who plays Kerry Wyatt – when the incident took place.

However, the jury cleared him of all charges after they were told he acted in self-defence.

Daz Spencer’s major storylines include being accused of kidnapping his own daughter and hitting Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) while drink driving.

He left the farm for work without taking his daughter with him.
