From the Cobbles to the Big Screen

Former Coronation Street star Joe Frost is making a grand return to TV after landing a major new role alongside a Hollywood star. Fans of the ITV soap opera will be familiar with Joe after he played the character of Leo Thompkins, Jenny Connor's toyboy lover. His character made a lasting impact on Corrie. He became the first victim of the evil Stephen Reid and his death has played a huge part in the show over the last few weeks as Stephen's comeuppance lingers.

A Hot New Role

However, a year on from being killed off on the show, Joe has bagged himself a hot new role on the box. The star will be appearing in the Beeb's gripping new Sunday night drama, Boiling Point. Joe is starring alongside Hollywood star Stephen Graham on the programme which has already got viewers hooked. He plays the role of Henry on the BBC One show.

A Lasting Impact

Although he has now left the Cobbles behind, its fair to say that his character has had a lasting impact on the show. Over 12 months on from his horrific death at the hands of wicked businessman Stephen, Leo is still being talked about to this day with the Police desperate to find out who killed him. Fans have seen DS Swain being to twig that Stephen has an evil streak to him and it appears that fans won't have to wait long for his family and the rest of Weatherfield to discover that there is a killer in their midst. Leo and his father Teddy were both killed off by Audrey's son and so will justice finally be served for their cruel deaths?

From Film to TV

For his new role, Boiling Point is a spin off of the film with the same name that came out in 2021 to huge critical acclaim. The show is set six months after the events of the film, and follows kitchen staff as they face the pressures of working in a high-end restaurant. Fans of the film had been looking forward to the show but were left slamming the BBC for "ruining" the first episode. Watchers took to social media to complain that they could barely hear the dialogue in the new show, with some saying they worried they were "going deaf". One person wrote: "Is it just me – but I can hardly make out the dialogue in Boiling Point! I feel like my head is underwater."

A Major Role for Joe

He is now starring with Stephen Graham on Boiling Point. It is a major role for the actor.
