But he revealed he was gay on their wedding day
The pair cancelled their wedding at the last minute
Gabby fell head over heels for Nicky Milligan (played by Lewis Cope) after the hunk was hired as nanny at Home Farm.
The pair were due to be married in recent scenes aired on ITV but, unable to live in a lie for much longer, Nicky told Gabby he was gay and couldn’t go through the nuptials.
Coming up next week, all hell is breaking loose for Nicky’s father Caleb as he makes more enemies than ever in the eponymous.
Gabby, on the other hand, is still struggling to cope with her broken heart.
But despite her pain, she turns up for work and her family support her, fully aware she’s far from over Nicky.
In later scenes, Gabby is apprehensive to face villagers after her mortifying heartbreak.
Her fears are proven right when a tense altercation with Caleb (Will Ash) leaves her upset.
Once home, Gabby’s upset after her run in with Caleb and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) simmers with anger on her behalf.
However, Caleb could be getting comeuppance as many residents turn their backs on him completely.
The Dingles try to figure out what to do about him after discovering what he was really up to in Home Farm – and he manages to get on their nerves.
Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) also decides she’s had enough of Caleb and he goes above and beyond to win her over.
The wedding planner agrees to meet Caleb for lunch and just as she begins to forgive Caleb, a bust up between Charity and Mackenzie leads to a shock revelation.
There’s pandemonium in the pub after Charity reveals she slept with Caleb, which leads to Leyla and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) wanting a word with Caleb.
The schemer contemplates his recent life in the eponymous village while out on woodland ridge when a mystery figure jumps out of the shadows to push him off.
Caleb’s lifeless body lies at the bottom of the ridge.
Could Gabby or Will be the ones to retaliate so brutally?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
