GEMMA Atkinson has said that there is “no chance” of an Emmerdale return, ruling out a Carly Hope comeback once and for all.

The 35-year-old star quit the ITV soap in 2017, wowing fans on Strictly Come Dancing before welcoming baby Mia with boyfriend Gorka Marquez earlier this year.

The actress now lives in Manchester, and wants to continue focusing on her radio show and being a first-time mum.

Emmerdale viewers have been campaigning for Gemma to reprise her role to help out Marlon Dingle, but unfortunately this won’t be happening any time soon.

Explaining how a return just wouldn’t be practical, the blonde beauty shared: “I love Emmerdale. Its a great show. But going back would mean doing a commute to Leeds, doing 12 hours of filming and then going back again.

“I wouldnt see Mia.”

She continued to the Daily Star Sunday: “People keep messaging me saying I should go back to save Marlon, but I cant go back at the moment.”

Gemma was a regular in the village for over two years and involved in several of Emmerdale’s biggest storylines.

Considering a comeback, the actress did say that she could do a “couple” of new episodes for the soap, but ruled out going back “long-term”.

Gemma is currently loved-up with Strictly pro Gorka, who she met while taking part in the 2017 series of the show.

The pair announced that they were expecting their first child in February of this year, welcoming baby Mia on 4 July.
