HOLLYOAKS star Nikki Sanderson has opened up about the horrifying moment her mum died before being brought back to life by a hero first responder.
Nikki, 38, shared a snap of her mum with the man – Howard – and told the emotional story of the event which took place last year.

She heaped praise on first responder Howard for saving her mum’s life
Writing on Instagram the actress said: “Less than 5 minutes after we got to mums, she went into cardiac arrest and she died.
“We immediately started CPR under the guidance of the 999 operator who was so supportive and calm in the most scary, traumatic time of our lives.”
Nikki, who stars as Maxine Minniver in the Channel 4 soap, revealed that Howard wasn’t expecting to attend to someone having a cardiac arrest.
She continued: “But with his quick thinking and incredible knowledge he began working on mum to get a pulse.
“He didn’t give up, he fought to save her even though the odds were against her, he wouldn’t call time of death as he wanted to get her back…
“And eventually, he did, along with the ambulance crew that later joined him.”
Nikki went on to describe the “incredibly difficult journey” they’ve faced as a family since, but heaped praise on all the people involved in saving her mum’s life.
She said: “There are no words as to how thankful we are to Howard, the north west ambulance team, and all the wonderful surgeons, doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Fairfield and Salford Royal who saved my mums life and cared for her like she was a part of their own family.”
Earlier this year Nikki confirmed her relationship with fellow Hollyoaks star Anthony Quinlan.
In an exclusive chat with HOAR, Anthony later said: “I’ve always fancied her. She’s mega hot, right?”
