Ex-Emmerdale actress Adele Silva quits fame to become a teacher

Adele Silva, once named as the "sexiest soap star," has chosen to turn her back on fame in order to share her acting talents with the next generation. The former Emmerdale actress, now 43, played the role of Kelly Windsor for an impressive 19 years before transitioning into motherhood and teaching.

From on-screen scandals to teaching classrooms

Adele Silva is best remembered for her captivating portrayal of Kelly Windsor on ITV's Emmerdale from 1993 to 2011. During her time on the soap, she was involved in a number of steamy affairs and dramatic storylines, including romances with co-stars Ethan Blake, Jimmy King, Rodney Blackstock, and even her on-screen step-brother Scott, played by Ben Freeman.

However, in the 14 years since leaving the fame and glamour of the Yorkshire Dales, Adele has undergone a remarkable transformation. Photos on her Instagram show her beaming alongside her eight-year-old daughter Sienna, and she now comfortably blends in with her colleagues at the National Film and Television School.

A possible return to Emmerdale?

In a recent interview, Adele hinted that she wouldn't rule out a return to Emmerdale if given the opportunity. She expressed interest in exploring storylines involving her character's son and niece, who are still in the village. Adele also mentioned the strong bonds and history her character has with other notable characters on the show, particularly the infamous Kim Tate.

Despite her departure from the spotlight, Adele fondly reflects on her time on Emmerdale and the challenging and impactful storylines she was given. She credits the show for allowing her to explore and showcase her acting abilities.

A new chapter

Today, Adele has found fulfillment in her role as a teacher and her most important job – being a mother. Although she may have left behind the fame and recognition she once had, her new path allows her to make a difference in the lives of others.

Whether she decides to return to the world of soap operas or not, Adele Silva's decision to leave fame behind and pursue a career in teaching is commendable. It serves as a reminder that true success can be found in following one's passions and embracing new opportunities.
