Actress Michelle Collins has opened up about the reason she hasn't returned to her old job at Walford's famous pub in EastEnders. Michelle, 61, reprised her role as Cindy Beale on the BBC soap last year, but fans were left wondering why she wasn't working behind the Queen Vic bar.

Not good with props

One fan took to Twitter to express their confusion, saying, "@missmcollins I only started watching EastEnders again when you came back and all the storylines have been brilliant. Also, I'm waiting for you to be queen of the Vic with George." Michelle replied, revealing the real reason behind her absence, "Ha ha! Thank you, but I'm not good with props. I worked in the #oldvic @bbceastenders years ago, I got sacked for breaking too many glasses!"

A dramatic return

Michelle recently returned to EastEnders after her character Cindy faked her own death in 1998. Cindy, who was married to Albert Square lothario Ian Beale, had a tumultuous storyline involving affairs, kidnapping her own children, and even hiring a hitman to kill Ian. Ultimately, she was sent to prison in 1998 and viewers were told she died in childbirth with her daughter Cindy Jr.

Stranded in Malaga

Michelle's latest stint on the soap hasn't been without its challenges. She was recently forced to miss filming after being stranded in Malaga without a passport. Taking to Twitter, she pleaded with her airline to let her fly home. Fans were left wondering how her character's storyline would play out during her absence.

Michelle Collins' return to EastEnders has certainly been eventful, and viewers can't wait to see what's in store for her character Cindy Beale next.
