SOAP fans are devastated for another Thursday night without any new episodes.
With the shutdown forcing Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks to scale back on their broadcasts, Thursday nights are now a dearth of soap.
Ordinarily there would be two episodes of Emmerdale, an episode of EastEnders and one of Hollyoaks to keep fans satiated but no more.
And with not a single episode airing, fans don’t know what to do with themselves.
One wrote: “Really really missing #EastEnders on Thursdays and Fridays ! Feel bereft ! Literally nothing to watch …sigh @bbceastenders”
A second said: “Pls can we move one of the soaps JUST ONE to a Thursday so that all days are catered for #EastEnders #Corrie #Hollyoaks #emmerdale”
Another added: “I’m still mad that they chose Monday and Tuesday instead of Tuesday and Thursday.. #eastenders”
With the lockdown EastEnders now airs on Monday at 8pm and Tuesdays at 7.30pm.
Emmerdale airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 7pm, with Coronation Street following at 7.30pm on the same evenings.
Hollyoaks originally planned to air Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights but later reduced their schedules to just Monday and Tuesday nights at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
First look episodes follow on E4 at 7pm.
As it stands the soaps can eek out their completed episodes to stay on air until the summer but unless production resumes by June, it is unlikely they will remain on air.
