STRICTLY’S Maisie Smith revealed being in the dance-off was the scariest moment of her life and left her in tears.

The EastEnders star has found herself in the bottom two for the past two weeks, narrowly avoiding the axe each time.

Maisie Smith survives the dance-off for the second time

Speaking to OK! magazine after she survived last week’s decider against Max George, Maisie admitted her confidence has been hit.

She said: “It was so, so scary. It wasn’t a nice feeling at all. You didn’t see it on camera, but as soon as I was saved, I just burst into tears…

“It knocked my confidence. I’ve been trying so hard – we all have. But I’ve had to keep reminding myself not to take it so personally.”

Fans of the show were outraged last night as Maisie landed in the bottom two again, before Caroline Quentin was sent home.

She said her confidence has been knocked

Despite coming joint second on the leaderboard after impressing the judges with her Salsa, Maisie and pro-partner Gorka Marquez found themselves in danger.

This time she faced fellow actress Caroline and her partner Johannes Radebe in the dance off, who performed their Cha Cha once more.

After both couples had danced again, the judges chose to save Maisie, 19, and Gorka.

Craig Revel Horwood said: “I absolutely love both couples, but for me one couple was outstanding and danced as though their lives depended on it and that couple I would like to save, Maisie and Gorka.”

Anton Du Beke also chose to save Maisie and Gorka, saying: “Well I thought both couples danced beautifully. I think they are beautiful couples danced fabulous routines.

“One couple was a bit cleaner than the other couple, there was a couple of mistakes in there. So the couple I would like to save are Maisie and Gorka.”

When asked by host Tess Daly if she has fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a dancer on the show, Caroline said: “Yeah in a way slightly more than that because I have had the honour and privilege of working with some of the greatest dancers this country has ever known.

“I mean I really believe it. I think they are absolutely fantastic. But of course my greatest gift coming on this show is this man.”

When asked if he had any words for Caroline, Johannes said: “Oh my gosh, what a woman, thank you, thank you again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

“I don’t know what to say, because it was a beautiful one, I had a beautiful journey with you, thank you my darling, thank you.”

While many viewers were sad to see Caroline go, others were outraged that Maisie had been in the bottom two again.

Another added: “Oh FFS I knew this was going to happen and I’m still furious. Poor Maisie and Gorka. I voted for her, Bill and Clara.”

A third tweeted: “nah I’m actually very annoyed right now. there is something wrong with you jealous people. seek help. Immediately.”
